An AI bot fixed it supposedly while he refused to admit there was a problem. Then the admin posts the N word over and over as Anon on Free-DC/Discord after attempting to login. |

BitBoinc is now running Kampylos (gravitational microlensing) CPU WUs. Kampylos validate and credit OK. WUProp does not count hours. |

An AI bot fixed it supposedly while he refused to admit there was a problem. its great that AI can fix project apps. Many projects even refuse to compile an app for macos And the anonymous incident was proven to be fake and happened in the middle of the night in Europe I collect WU properties for Ukraine! |

An AI bot fixed it supposedly while he refused to admit there was a problem. Yes the bot fixed something the admin refused to admit was an issue. Logs trump someone saying it wasn't them when the same IP tried to login as Felix and is also the same IP as the project.. |

I have 13 completed Kampylos Windows tasks that all received credit and they were done by more than one Host PC. Time estimates are out of the ball park but that is normal for new applications and task versions. If you feel the need to be critical of a project or Staff .... I suggest that you look at the World Community Grid ..... The BitBoinc project has a Sphinx (Certicom ECC Challenge discrete-log search) application. Why does WUProp show two different applications? Sphinx (Certicom ECCp-131 discrete-log search) and Sphinx (Certicom ECC Challenge discrete-log search). |

Does anybody know what the URL is for the project that is running Enigma work. I thought this project was dead but there are several thousand WU's reported in the last 24 hours. |

Does anybody know what the URL is for the project that is running Enigma work. That is the old dead project. There must be a new one somewhere or it is a private project. |

Normally it's just someone turning on an old BOINC client and something uploaded with hours but it won't be many hours. One clue is to check last 24 hours to see if anything has been returned https://wuprop.statseb.fr/24h_best_participants.py In this case one user returned work. TJM also has enigma as their URL with 176 hours in the past day. 178/24hr is 7.33 and they have an 8 thread machine https://wuprop.statseb.fr/show_user.php?userid=1329 That info makes it seem like it could be back. |

I don't think the " (16384 tickets)" should be included in the app name used for WUprop. I believe it represents a batch and not the application. We're going to end up with a bunch of tiny entries instead of growing of one called "Eternity II NVIDIA GPU 272" <user_friendly_name>Eternity II NVIDIA GPU 272 (16384 tickets)</user_friendly_name> And I see 273 has been released. The 272 and 273 are just app versions which should not be included here either. It should just be: Eternity II NVIDIA GPU

From what I read, and understood to be, the various GPU apps are merely the project admin's way a figuring out the different hardware and related statistics while testing and he will consolidate it later. The underlying app is the same and the over all project results are the same. (This is unlike PG which the underlying app is "mostly" the same but the results are different.) So I too think that there should only be a single GPU app. |

I agree that they could be combined, esp since its also split by user so we all can't get each app. Historically whatever project admins have said is what is used here though. |

Anyone have any information on this new project "Beacon@Home Dev" that has several apps being reported in [Beta] New / Intermittent applications starting with Message 12651? www search finds a whole bunch of websites but none appears to be a BOINC project. |

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=15836#120659 Security Warning: Beacon@Home Dev Based on my observations, the project appears to perform device scanning or probing and may collect information from users' devices beyond the measurements required for the intended BOINC project functionality. OMG. LOL. Guys, the situation is really becoming crazy. First, we had BitBoinc project with a bunch of badly vibecoded (hello, Claude) apps. The main reason for this project was to break locked bitcon wallets, and all "scientific" apps were just a deception. "Look we doing science" And now we have next level. Please keep in mind, value of locked bitcoin wallets is very high according to current exchage rate, so any fraudulent scheme is indeed very profitable. And BOINC community being naive and very trustful for a long time is a perfect target. Btw, reasoning like "I guess the guy should be given a chance to prove himself" does not work anymore. TLDR: PLEASE DON'T BE SO NAIVE |

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=15836#120659 This is what I got doing a Google search AI Overview "Beacon@Home Dev" is a fake BOINC project. Tech communities and forums, including the Linus Tech Tips Forums, have issued explicit alerts warning users to beware of this project. Forums - Linus Tech Tips It is not an authorized or legitimate scientific research endeavor listed by the official BOINC Architecture. Instead, it is a malicious or deceptive campaign targeting community crunchers, potentially designed for coin mining, malware distribution, or computing resource theft. I wont be running this one. I do run BitBoinc, and don't have any problems with it, the person running it has also helped both Einstein and Numberfields with his use of AI to solve some problems, so I think it is OK. Other people disagree and it has not been included on popular Stat sites yet, time will tell. Conan |
