Sometime in the last 24 hours, my M4 Mac stopped getting new tasks. No error message in the event log that I can see. I looked at the app page, and I don't see any app for apple/M. Is that the problem? I will also note that I upgraded the OS to the latest (MacOS 27). Perhaps that has something to do with it? Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Edit: FWIW, the issue started happening with BOINC 8.2.11. I tried upgrading to 8.2.15 (dev version), but that did not fix the problem.

AFAIK Apple planned to drop the support for x86-64 emulation, perhaps that's what happened with MacOS 27? Check your sched_request_wuprop.statseb.fr.xml for <alt_platform> tag, if it's not there, that's the reason.

Yes, apple is dropping support for Rosetta2 (x86-64 emulation), but not until MacOS 28. However, while looking into this, I discovered that Rosetta 2 was no longer installed after upgrading. I was able to validate it was missing by running either of two commands I got from Gemini:

ls /Library/Apple/usr/libexec/oah/libRosettaRuntime
or
pkgutil --pkg-info com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto

It was there for MacOS 26, and I was getting/running wuprop just fine until the upgrade. I guess it was automatically uninstalled when upgraded to MacOS 27. Weird! Not sure why they would uninstall something that is still supported.

In any case, I added back Rosetta following the instructions I got rom Gemini:

softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

Things are working again. Yay! But it looks like a new wuprop app will be needed when MacOS 28 is released next year.
