Purple *IS* the best color; however. You thinking we'll get a star color for 500k and 1m hours thresholds? You seem to be shooting for a 1m and have several 500k already. (i brag to 'civilians' that my computers did 500k hours of work on COVID modeling as a way to introduce them to BOINC) |

My house hit 82F last week. My main season is coming to an end in mid March (the idiom around here is "April showers bring May flowers" and the tulips might not bloom before Easter. Now it's March showers, April flowers then a May drought.) I hoped SRBase would get me a 2nd purple this winter but I fell short cause it was hot into October. All I managed was a bunch of new blues and magentas that drove my 6th star gold and 7th silver by the process. I'll try and create a climate enclosed server farm in the basement for summer but my roof is losing shingles that my old body has to get up on and fix today and my facia is rotting and gutters keep popping off. BOINC budget was blown on upgrading to 128GB for 5 servers. The MB's wouldn't handle the 4th gen E5-2696's (my mistake not researching chipsets). I'm sleeping 12 hours a day. Not sure why I can't get out of bed. Autism is both a curse and a gift. My pattern and spatial reasoning abilities are amazing. Doesn't matter when it's hard to make eye contact and keep a job cause I don't understand politics. At least I retired early and get a small SSA check per month. Wish I knew how to keep in touch with more people like me. My fiance died and I'm childless. Yeah I know, you dudes don't like touchy feely stuff but who else cares much about me and what I do here? I consider the hours represented here at WUProp to be the most important thing I've ever done in my life. My best contribution to humanity. |

Well said Marmot and I agree with Bill F as well, we all have our own things going on and being able to crunch gives us a brotherhood that might otherwise not have happened!! I too value my contributions to the different projects, as well as chasing new and better badges but I too am struggling with the weather and how to deal with it while trying maintain my crunching. |
